Joan C. Haggerty ObituaryJoan Haggerty, 93, beloved mother, grandmother and friend passed away on September22, 2025.
She was born October 12, 1931 to John and Katherine Connolly in Council Bluffs Iowa.
Joan attended Creighton University, graduating from the School of Pharmacy in 1954. She married
Edwin C. Haggerty that summer and together they shared 58 years of marriage, devoted to each
other and their family.
They settled in Colorado Springs in 1958 where Ed practiced dentistry and
Joan nurtured the children, managed real estate and practiced pharmacy. Joan loved spending time
with friends and family, entertaining and travel. She was an active member of Sacred Heart Church,
performing many hours of volunteer service.
Joan is preceded in death by her husband, and daughter Susan Beverly. She is survived by children:
Michael Haggerty and Maggie Barnett of Colorado Springs, Kathy Briggs on Sanford N.C., eight
grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, two brothers and many nieces and nephews.
How lucky we are to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.
The Funeral Mass for Joan will be celebrated at 12pm on Friday, October 10th at Sacred Heart Church,
2030 W. Colorado Ave., Colorado Springs.
