Joan Hall Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Smith Funeral Home, Crematory, & Monument - Grinnell on Apr. 3, 2025.
Joan Marie (Goodrich) Hall, age 88, of Brooklyn passed away on Friday March 14, 2025, at Bethany Life in Story City, Iowa.
A memorial service will be held 10:30 AM, Saturday, April 5th, at Madison Church of Christ in Brooklyn.
Born on January 8, 1937, Joan was the daughter of Marion and Florence (Bartachek) Goodrich. A graduate of BGM High School, Joan was united in marriage to Roger Lee Hall in June of 1954.
While raising two daughters on a livestock and grain farm in rural Malcom, Joan enjoyed working with cattle and watching her grandchildren compete in local and state livestock competitions. A lover of all things antiques and folk art, she spent more than 45 years collecting and selling vintage items at craft shows and venues like What Cheer, Iowa. Joan also very much loved her lake cabin and found joy in visiting with those who stopped by on sunny afternoons.
Joan is survived by her daughter Regina (Duane) Hendrickson of Stanhope, son-in-law Richard Siek (and partner Jerelyn Kimm) of Blairstown; four grandchildren, Heather Siek of Brooklyn, Aaron Siek (and partner KC Peitz) of Blairstown, Hillary (Andy) Eckert of Roland, and Spencer (Cristina) Hendrickson of Mundelein, Illinois; and five great grandchildren Owen Siek, Valek Shilling, Taryn Eckert, Audrey Eckert, and Sebastian Hendrickson.
Joan was preceded in death by her husband Roger, daughters Sheryl Siek and Carla Hall, her parents, four brothers, Louis, Gary, James, and Marvin Goodrich, and one sister Mary Jane Heishman.
