Joan Heil Obituary
Known as Joan to her family and friends, she was born on June 8th, 1932 in Stockton, California, to Jacob Van and Golda (nee Frederick) Wolfe. She attended Stockton High School and Stockton College, and later graduated from University of California, Berkeley. She then worked as an editor for the San Francisco Chronicle.
She married Walter Heil on February 3rd, 1962 at the First Christian Church in Stockton, and went on to enjoy 49 years of marriage until his death in 2011.
Joan is preceded in death by her husband Walter, her parents Jacob Van and Golda, her brother John, and her sister-in-law Shirley. She is survived by her brother, Jim Wolfe; seven nieces and nephews, Golda (Everett) Harrison, Ann (Dave) Snitchler, Frances (Warren) Anderson, Katherine (John) Flora, Jacob Wolfe, Melinda (Roger) Mangels, and Steven (Tressa) Wolfe; 17 grand nieces and nephews and 11 great-grandnieces and nephews.
Joan's graveside service will be held 10:00 am Saturday, September 23, 2023 at the Valley View Cemetery. Family and friends and invited to sign her online guest book at www.FRFH.net
