Joan Beverly Hopson, 87, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2025.
Memorial services will be held at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel in Lampasas on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at 11 am.
Joan was born on September 24, 1937, in Zion, IL, to Orville and Dorothy (Hoyt) Archibald. She spent most of her career working with the Killeen Independent School District in the cafeteria department, retiring after more than 30 years. Joan enjoyed embroidery, crocheting, and absolutely loved Willie Nelson and attending his concerts. She also enjoyed sitting on her front porch watching the hummingbirds. She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Dorothy Archibald, her husband, Robert A. Hopson, Sr., her brother, Ronald Archibald, her sister, Jeannette Vander Vlucht, and her granddaughter, Rachael Tarango.
Survivors include her son, Robert A. Hopson, Jr; her daughter, Betty A. Radcliff; her grandson, Robert A. Lynch and wife Tabitha; her grand son-in-law, Miguel Tarango; her great-granddaughter, Nora Tarango; her sister-in-law, Pat Archibald and brother-in-law, Ralph Vander Vlucht as well as her nieces and nephews.
