Joan Lucille Keeney, a beloved mother, 91 of McCook, Nebraska, passed away peacefully at her home on June 12, 2025.

Joan was born in Trenton, Nebraska on November 6, 1933 to parents James and Letha (Williamson) Brown. She was married to her husband James Keeney on May 6, 1961 and was a loving mother to her children Kathleen, Alanna, Lisa, Michael, and Sean.

Joan was known for her strength and resilience to all obstacles in life. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, music and art.

Joan was preceded in death by her daughter, Lisa Bohac; her brother, Bryce Brown and her sisters, Linda Jacobsen and Katy Mann.

Joan is survived by her children, Kathleen Hidy, Alanna Morosic and husband, Joe, Michael Keeney, and Sean Keeney and wife, Bobbi; her grandchildren include Jacob Bohac and wife, Lydia, Anissa Morosic, Ashlee Ellis and husband, Brenton, Sara Thompson and husband, Austin, Henry Bohac, Erin Keeney, Kiara Pacheco and Eric Holthus; great-grandchildren include Adelyn Ellis, Alara Ellis, Lonnie Morosic, Jewel Holthus and Harlan Holthus; Joan's surviving siblings include Robert Brown, Vernelle Krausnick, Marion Brown, Nancy Harper, Sheila Frazier, and Dale Brown.

Graveside services are scheduled for 10:30 AM on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at the Trenton Cemetery in Trenton, Nebraska.

Memorials in Joan's memory are suggested to the McCook Humane Society. Online condolences may be left at herrmannfh.com. Arrangements have been entrusted to Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel of McCook.

Joan will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who were touched by her loving presence. Joan's family extends a special thank you to her beloved son-in-law, Joe Morosic who took such good care of Joan these last few months.
