Joan Slaughter Kirk

Joan Slaughter Kirk, 96, of Kenbridge, Va., joined her family in Heaven on March 7, 2026. She was the wife of the late John Richard Kirk; daughter of the late Richard Harvey Slaughter and Gladys Bishop Slaughter; sister of the late Peggy Louise Slaughter and Rae Spence and step-grandmother of the late Jake Valentine. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Trudy and Mark Dunnigan; her son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Wanda Kirk; three grandsons, Rick Kirk, Billy Kirk and Kyle Dunnigan; four great-grandchildren; extended family and friends. Joan was a lifetime member of Perseverance Christian Church. She worked taking care of others. She enjoyed her flower garden and earlier in life she enjoyed being a part of the Garden Club and hosting Rook parties. A Celebration of her life will be held 6PM on Thursday, March 19, 2026 at the Clarke Funeral Home in Kenbridge.
