Joan Lipscomb Obituary
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, David Johnson.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories, two daughters: Barbara Lyons and Marilyn Lipscomb, both of Durham, North Carolina; two grandchildren: Ashley Lyons of Durham and Mary Lyons of Boone, North Carolina; siblings: Patrecia Lawton, Clara George (William), Dorothy Wagstaff, John Bennie Johnson, Christopher Johnson (Gail) and Ronald Johnson (Jeffrey); and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, March 14, 2026 at 12:00pm at New Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 305 Walker Street in Roxboro 27573, with the Reverend P. Louis Evans, M.Div., Pastor, providing the eulogy. Burial will follow at Peace Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 650 Old Durham Road, Roxboro, North Carolina 27573.
Visitation will also be Saturday at the church from 11:00am to 12:00pm when her body will lie in state for one hour prior to the service.
At other times, the family will receive visitors at the home of her sister, 165 Isaac Trail, Roxboro, North Carolina 27574.
