Joan M. MacDonald

Joan M. MacDonald, age 88 recently of Bensalem, PA and formerly from Yardley, PA, passed away on Wednesday, September 26, 2022, one day shy of her 89th birthday, at Juniper Village in Bensalem. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Mrs. MacDonald lived in Yardley from 1960 until moving to Juniper Village four years ago.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a secretary for the State of New Jersey for 25 years, working for both the State Police and the Department of Labor and Industry. Joan was a longtime parishioner of St. Ignatius of Antioch Roman Catholic Church in Yardley. She had been an avid bowler and also enjoyed playing cards.
Daughter of the late John and Catherine (Stamford) Callanan, wife of the late William N. MacDonald, Sr., and sister of the late Ruth Shalvoy, she is survived by a son and daughter-in-law William and Cynthia MacDonald of Bethesda, MD, two grandchildren Kelsey MacDonald of New York, NY and William MacDonald III of San Diego, CA, one niece and three nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service at 11 AM on Monday, October 3, 2022 at the J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel, 41 W. Trenton Ave., Morrisville, PA 19067. Her interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Trenton, NJ.
Friends may call at the funeral chapel between 10 and 11 AM on Monday morning.
