Joan Marshall

Joan Marshall (Rodari), age 91, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2025 with family by her side. She was born and raised in Scranton, Pennsylvania, to Pete and Mary Jane Rodari, and later attended Delano High School, where she met her high school sweetheart, Earl Marshall. Joan was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Earl, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and built a home filled with warmth, laughter, and family.

She was an amazing mother, known for her strong spirit, sharp wit, and deep love for those around her. Joan is lovingly survived by her children, Steven Marshall and Lisa Marshall-Harrelson, and her son-in-law, Monte Harrelson. Joan cherished time spent with family and found her greatest joy in gatherings, heartfelt conversations, and creating memories that spanned generations. Her presence was steady, her humor unforgettable, and her love unwavering.

Joan held many professional titles throughout her life, from co-owner of the Surf's Up Shop in Delano to Human Resources Manager at The GEO Group. But the title that meant the most to her and the one she embraced with her whole heart was Nona, a grandmother.

She leaves behind her four cherished grandchildren and their spouses, Megan & Chuck Palomo, Bobbi & Jordan Hokit, Kari & Alex Marshall, and Shawn Barnett & Lisa Blankenship, as well as six great-grandchildren, who were a constant source of pride and joy in her life.

Her legacy lives on through the generations she nurtured, the strength she modeled, and the love she so freely gave. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered as she is welcomed into the loving arms of the Lord.

A Celebration of Life honoring Joan will be held on February 28th at the Delano Elks Lodge at 12:00pm.
