Obituary of Joan M. Martin

Joan M. (Williams) Martin, age 90, of Middletown Twp., PA, died at home on Saturday, December 27, 2025. Joan was a graduate of Chester High School, Class of 1952. Joan was employed at Scott Paper for 17 years, retiring in 1992.

Joan prided herself on caring for others and was a naturally selfless person; from tending to her sister Jean during her finals days, accompanying her daughter Debbie to her medical appointments, caring for her many grandchildren, and always having an open door to her home for whoever needed it. In fact, she took her grandchildren to swim lessons even though she wasn't able to swim herself. Thankfully, that didn't stop her from enjoying 'those Wildwood days' down at the shore, where she also met and married her husband Jack. She was a woman of routine who took joy in the many little things; never passing on her dessert, shopping around town, and watching her late night game shows.

She is preceded in death by her parents Richard and Jean Cullis Williams, husbands Jack Martin and Alfred Waychunas Jr, daughter Debra Martin Henry, sister Jean Murphy, brothers in law James Murphy and Dale Smith, and grandson Brandon J Martin. We all find comfort in knowing she is reunited with those she missed so dearly.

She is survived by her sister Nancy Smith, loving son John Martin, and many grand and great grandchildren who will miss her dearly.
