Joan Miles Mason Cooper, 92, passed away on September 24, 2025, in Charles Town, West Virginia. Born on June 30, 1933, in Baltimore, Maryland, Joan graduated from Eastern High School in Baltimore in 1951. She earned her degree in early childhood education from Beaver College (now Arcadia University) in Glenside, Pennsylvania, in 1955. For many years, she worked at Maryland Casualty Insurance Company in Baltimore. In her later years, she settled in Charles Town, West Virginia, where she resided since 2004. She was predeceased by her first husband, James Gilbert Barry Mason M.D., and her second husband, James E. Cooper II. Joan is survived by her four children: Julie Mason Morgan, Karen J. Mason, Kimberly J. Mason, and James A. Mason. Her legacy continues through eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
