Joan Moore Obituary

Joan Moore Obituary Joan Gertrude (Halloran) Moore, age 87, of Shaler Township, on October 18, 2025
Wife of John J. Moore for 61 years.
Mother of John Moore Jr. (Mindy), Eileen Brazinski (Steve), Michael Moore (Lisa), and Margaret "Margie" Mulhern (Pat).
Grandmother of Ryan Moore, Sarah Moore, Evan Brazinski (Sarah), Brendan Brazinski, Connor Moore, Gavin Moore, Brian Mulhern, Jake Mulhern, and Megan Mulhern.
Sister of the late Anna Mae Jones, Thomas, Charles, Eileen Ambrose, Robert, and John.
Daughter of the late Frank T. Halloran and Anna M. (Campbell) Halloran.
Joan and her twin brother John were the youngest of 7 children born to Frank and Anna Halloran and raised on Fisk Street inLawrenceville. The Halloran family was well known in Lawrenceville as her father served as an alderman and police magistrate offices that her brother and sister would later hold. Joan's father died when she was only 11-years old, so her older siblings, three of whom had already graduated from high school by the time she was born, played important roles in her young life and they stayed very close. She helped care for several during their later years. Close family connections and love were a theme throughout her life. She was close in age to some of her nephews who she loved and stayed close to throughout her life. The Halloran family were members of St. Mary's 46th Street Church when Joan went to school. She later graduated from Cathedral High School class of 1956 and Mount Mercy College class of 1960, with a Bachelor of Science in Education. She taught and was a speech therapist after college, a role that she would return to. After her children had grown she taught at Mount Nazareth Learning Center. She married John Moore in 1964, and they moved to Shaler Township where they raised four children. She was a longtime member of St. Bonaventure Church where all four of her children attended school. Over the years Joan filled nearly every volunteer role available at the school and church including substitute teacher. She was a dedicated mother and later grandmother of 9. She cherished the time she was able to spend with each of her grandchildren watching them grow up.
She loved gardening and took great pride in the landscaping and flowers around her home. She stayed in contact with her high school and college classmates and enjoyed her regular luncheons with those friends. She was a great neighbor, and she enjoyed helping neighbors with mail and errands. She was a very kind person. She stayed in touch with as many friends and relatives as possible and cared deeply about people in her life. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, friend and neighbor who positively influenced many lives and will be greatly missed.
