Joan Ohlson Obituary
Born in Rockland, MA on October 18, 1933, to Harold Luddy and Gertrude (Saunders) Luddy, Joan was raised in Rockland and attended Rockland High School. After high school, Joan attended Chandler Secretarial School and went on to work for Tuft's Medical School in Boston and was also a legal secretary for Joseph Linehan Esq.
Joan loved traveling on family vacations to Disney World and spending time with her family. She was also an avid sports fan and loved watching her sons play for their little league and high school baseball teams and her daughter compete in majorette competitions. She was also a diehard fan of the Red Sox and Patriots.
Joan is survived by her son Dennis Ohlson and his partner Janice McHugh of Foxboro; son Thomas Ohlson and wife Catherine of Plainville; daughter Teresa Mason and husband Philbrook of Arlington, VA; grandchildren Eric Ohlson and wife Jessica of South Easton; Stephanie Geraghty and husband Joseph of Arlington, VA; Michelle Brown and husband Matthew of Franklin, MA; Lauren Mason of Arlington, VA; Sean Ohlson of Plainville, MA, Christopher Ohlson of Plainville, MA; as well as great-grandchildren Harry Ohlson, Isla Geraghty, and Cian Geraghty. She was predeceased by her brother Harold Luddy.
A funeral will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at 11:00am at St. Ann's Church in West Bridgewater – 103 N. Main St., West Bridgewater. Burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery in West Bridgewater – 483 N. Main St.. West Bridgewater.
Donation in Joan's memory may be made to Catholic TV or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
