Joan Sue Reed, 85 of Brimfield, passed away Sunday February 15, 2026 at her home. She was born November 20, 1940 in Akron, Ohio to the late Arthur and Dovie (Bailey) McBroom. Mrs. Reed has lived in Brimfield the past 10 years and was formerly of Rootstown. She had worked as a nurse's aide retiring from New Martinsville Care Clinic and also had worked at he Portage County Nursing Homes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ted Reed on October 5, 2018, her son Timothy Reed and brother Gerald McBroom. Survivors include her children Ted (Elizabeth) Reed, Diane (Randy) Rochowiak, David (Vickie) Reed, Sheryl Reed, Janette (Rodney Hall) Reed, 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Calling hours will be 11:00 AM Wednesday February 18, 2026 from 11:00 Am until time of services at 12 Noon at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel. Burial will follow in Restland Cemetery Brimfield, Ohio. Please visit www.sscfuneralhomes.com to share a memory, offer a condolence or light a candle.
