Joan A. Wainwright

WAINWRIGHT, Joan A. (nee Jennings) passed away unexpectedly on February 18, 2026. She was 79. Beloved wife of the late Jonathan D. Wainwright, Sr.

Loving mother of Brian DeLuca (Celeste), Ronald DeLuca (Sissi) and Kevin DeLuca (Kristin).

Dearly loved Nana of 5 grandchildren, Kaeley, Jack, Madeleine, Connor and Ashlynn and great Nana of Hudson.

She was the beloved daughter of the late Thomas and the late Helen Jennings and dear sister of the late Thomas (the late Bettie) and the late David Jennings. Dear sister in law of Doris Jennings.

Early on in her working career, Joan was employed with GTE and later ADP. Her work took her to Merrill Lynch where she retired as Vice President in 2008.

She was devoted to her family and spending time with her children and grandchildren was her favorite pastime. She was immensely proud of her grandchildren and watching them thrive and grow was her greatest joy. She lived life to the fullest - family vacations at the beach, attending weekly Mass and practicing yoga. Her Irish heritage was important to her and she cherished the memories from a family trip to Ireland. She adored COFFEE and we know she is now enjoying an extra large cup.

Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing on Sunday from 2-3pm where a Memorial Service will be held at 3pm. Interment will be private at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
