Joan C. Wedin

Joan C Wedin, 90 years old, of Levittown, NY passed on February 16, 2026. She was born in Brooklyn NY, daughter of Lydia Barra and Anthony Scurbia, Joan loved music and loved to sing. Joan was married to William Wedin for eight years who passed away in 1972. She worked many years and retired from Sears, as a sales rep. Her daughter Ellin Van Etten passed at age 42 and daughter of Joan and William, Laura Christine, died at birth.

Joan is survived by five of her seven children, Michael (Micky) Thiele, Mary DeLeonardis and her husband Dennis, Anne Cubeta, Jeffrey Thiele and his wife Jackie, Bill Wedin and his wife Barbara. Joan was a caring and loving grandmother to her 21 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. She is the sister of Lynne Cuccaro-Torre and aunt and Godmother to Nicole Ferretti. She is also a great aunt to Jack and Sophia Ferretti.

Services will be held at Dalton Funeral Parlor in Levittown on Thursday 2/19 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A mass will be held at Holy Family Parish, 17 Fordham Road in Hicksville NY at 10:000 AM on Friday 2/20.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
