Annamma Varghese

Annamma "Kunjumol" Varghese, a long-time resident of Emerson, NJ, passed away peacefully after a long-fought battle on February 13, 2023, at the Villa Marie Claire Hospice Center in Holy Name Hospital, Teaneck, NJ.
Kunjumol was born in Kerala, India to the late T.P. and Thankamma Chacko. She had innate caring and compassion, and a "healing touch" which made her the ideal registered nurse for over 35 years. She loved gardening and being outside. Above all else, Kunjumol was a selfless woman who put the needs of others before herself. After coming to the United States, she sponsored her husband, mother, and siblings so they could realize their own American dream. Kunjumol was a loving and supportive wife and mother, and nothing compared to the joy she received by being a grandmother. Her infectious smile, laughter, and warmth will be sorely missed, but will live on in cherished memories forever. Kunjumol had strong faith in God, her family truly believes she is relaxing in her reserved comfortable chair in His house.
In addition to her parents, Kunjumol is preceded in death by her brother Mathew "Thambi" and sister Sosamma "Baby". She is survived by her beloved husband of more than 47 years, George Varughese; daughters, Nina Varughese, Carolin (Mark) McLean, and Rina (Sebastian Davis) Varughese; 3 grandchildren: Isabella, Alexander, and Kaia; sisters: Aleyamma "Molly" and Saramma "Julie", brothers: Jacob "Monai", James "Kochumon", and Moncy, their spouses, as well as many nieces, nephews, and their children.
