Joan A. Zale

Joan A. Zale, age 94, of Toledo, passed away on Monday, March 30, 2026 at the Otterbein Sunset House. Joan was born on May 6, 1931, in Toledo, OH to George and Mary (Biel) Szczublewski. Joan was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and homemaker. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Joan was a longtime parishioner of Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church where she served as a Eucharistic minister. She was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Seniors.

Joan is survived by her children, Timothy (Janet) Zale, Patricia (Michael) Filichia, Mary (Ronald) Boone; 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter R. Zale, her brothers, Leonard, Melvin, George, and Richard. Her sisters Mary, Virginia, Eleanor, and Sylvia,

The funeral Mass for Joan will be Tuesday, April 7 at 11 a.m. at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, preceded by visitation at the church from 10 - 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park cemetery.
