Joan Pauline (Townsend) Zerr, 89, of Norwood, NJ, passed away peacefully on Saturday August 2, 2025. Her husband of 70 years, Robert Joseph Zerr, preceded her in death this year. She was the beloved mother of Lisa Allgood and James P.T. Zerr, and the very proud grandmother of Dr. Meredith Allgood, Tyler Zerr and wife Nichole, Carly Zerr May and husband Chad, and Ashton Allgood Batten and husband John and son Kade. She dearly loved her great-grandchildren James Robert and Lilly Margit Zerr.
Joan was a paralegal for James Crawford, Esq., in Tenafly, and the Special Assistant to the President and Client Relations Officer for Alpine Associates. She was involved in so much in Norwood – on the Board of Foxhill Manor, the Norwood Public School PTA, and many other Norwood organizations. She was an avid tennis player, expert skier, voracious reader, and loved her church, Cornerstone. Her curiosity about life, her love of her family friends, and her willingness to help others (she often brought "strays" to family gatherings) marked her days.
A private family memorial will be held at a later date.
She will be dearly missed.
