What a lovely sweet lady she was. I am so sorry for your loss. I am keeping you all in my prayers. I was a new student at Rochester high school in 1979. I had the privilege of having Mrs. Cabell for my typing teacher. She was so patient and kind. One of my favorite teachers. She put her heart and soul into teaching and we, her students, could feel her love and concern for us. She was one of those teachers you never forget. Many years later, I became a teacher with Springfield Public School District 186. Somewhere between the years of 2009 and 2015 I had the privilege of seeing Mrs. Cabell again. She came to Matheny-Withrow Elementary school as a substitute teacher. When she walked into my first grade classroom, I had a nostalgic feeling come over me. It was a heartwarming reunion. We both remembered and recognized each other. We had a great time reminiscing about Rochester High school and 30 some years ago. What an amazing lady with an impressive memory. She still looked beautiful and elegant. She always smelled so nice and carried herself with poise and dignity. I was so honored to have her in my classroom and to show her what I had become. Mrs. Cabell inspired her students to do their very best. To be all they could be. To pursue their dreams and never give up. She touched so many lives and I will never forget her!
Sending my love and prayers to her family.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Joleen Booth
