Joann Geschrey Obituary

Joann "Jo" Geschrey, lovingly known as Mrs. G, was a great lady with many names - wife, mom, grandma, great-grandmother, Granny, Mrs. G, and Aunt - who passed away peacefully on October 25, 2025, at the remarkable age of 95.
Born on September 23, 1930, Jo lived a full and loving life, one marked by humor, compassion, and deep devotion to her family. She had an extraordinary gift for making everyone feel at home and loved - whether you were family, friend, or lucky enough to cross her path.
Jo's nurturing spirit extended beyond people to her beloved dogs, whom she treated as her children. Through the years, her "dog children" - Jet (who famously "ate people"),Albert, Hairy, Buckwheat, and Herbie - brought her endless joy and all have preceded her in death.
She was also preceded in death by her husband Richard "Dick" Geschrey, daughter-in-law Ana Geschrey, her parents, and her brothers.
Jo is survived by her children Gale Geschrey (Dan McGovern), Gerald "Jerry" Geschrey, Thomas "Tom" Geschrey (Kim), and Richard "Roo" Geschrey (Angela); grandchildren Megan (Mike) Trainor, Jonathan "Jon" Geschrey, Timothy "Tim" (Hayley) Geschrey, Russell "Russ" (Andrea) Geschrey, Samantha Geschrey, Teresa "Tess" Geschrey, and Victoria "Tori" Geschrey; and great-grandchildren Kason, Elsie, Reid, Ophelia "Effie", and Logan - all of whom will cherish her memory and the love she shared.
Joann will be remembered for her strength, humor, and the special way she made everyone feel like family. Her legacy of love, laughter, and kindness lives on in every heart she touched.
A celebration of life will be held at Cooney's Funeral Home on Sunday, November 23, 2025 from 11:00am-2:00pm with a service at 1:00 where family and friends can gather to share stories, smiles, and memories of Joann - a truly unforgettable woman.
