Joann Coulson Giehler, 99, of New Cumberland, died on Friday, June 27, 2025, at Country Meadows West Shore of Mechanicsburg.
Born on February 20, 1926, in Lemoyne, PA, she was the daughter of Harry A. and Ruth E. Sponsler Coulson.
A 1943 graduate of Lemoyne High School, Joann enjoyed attending monthly luncheons with her classmates into their 80's and 90's.
She was employed at Olmsted Air Force Base until its closure in the 1960s. She enjoyed reading and traveling, and was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Lemoyne.
Surviving is her nephew, George R. Boyer (Janet Lee Millman) of Ithaca, NY.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Alfred F. Giehler, her sisters Louise C. Boyer and Barbara C. Russell, brothers-in-law George R. Boyer Sr. and James A. Russell, and her beloved Siamese cat Penny. After her husband's passing, she reconnected with her former classmate D. Wayne Crow, who was her companion until his death in 2019.
A private burial will be held in the Rolling Green Cemetery, Camp Hill.
Myers-Baker Funeral Home, 1903 Market Street, Camp Hill, is handling funeral arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the New Cumberland Public Library, 1 Benjamin Plaza, New Cumberland PA 17070, or to the charity of your choice.
