JoAnn H. Gomez, a devoted wife, loving mother, adoring grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2025, at the age of 52. Her radiant smile, warm spirit, and unwavering faith left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
Born on September 4, 1972, JoAnn lived a life rooted in love, laughter, and faith. She was the beloved wife of Louis R. Gomez, with whom she shared a deep and enduring bond. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with cherished memories and strong family values.
JoAnn was a proud and nurturing mother to her children: Javier A. Hernandez (Rebecca I. Hernandez), Jeslynn A. Hernandez (Savon Harvey), and Mark A. Lopez (Daphne Reyes). She also lovingly embraced her bonus children, creating a blended family rich in love, respect, and connection. JoAnn’s love knew no boundaries, and she treated all of her children and grandchildren as her own.She found her greatest joy in being a grandmother and poured her heart into every moment spent with her grandchildren—both biological and bonus. Her home was always filled with laughter, stories, hugs, and the sweet chaos of a family centered on love.Known for her outgoing nature and infectious laughter, JoAnn had a gift for making others feel welcomed and valued. She found joy in traveling and experiencing new adventures, especially when shared with her family. Her life was a celebration of togetherness, faith, and simple pleasures.
For 18 years, JoAnn served in the transportation department at The Village at Incarnate Word, where she was more than just an employee—she was a friend and companion to the residents she lovingly supported. Her dedication, compassion, and bright spirit left a lasting impact on the community she so faithfully served.
A devoted woman of God, JoAnn's faith was the cornerstone of her life. She lived with grace and walked with purpose, always trusting in God's plan. Though cancer may have taken her from this world, her family finds comfort in knowing that she is now healed and rejoicing in the presence of Jesus—reunited with her beloved mother, Esperanza B. Hernandez, in heaven.
JoAnn H. Gomez’s legacy of love, laughter, and faith will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will remain forever present in the lives she touched.
