JoAnn Sizemore Hodges, age 88, of Columbus, MS passed away Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Trinity Healthcare in Columbus, MS.
Visitation will be Thursday, February 20, 2025, at 12:30 p.m. at Woodland Baptist Church in Columbus. Followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m. with Rev. Kevin Jenkins officiating, internment will follow at Vaughn Cemetery in Steens, MS.
JoAnn was born January 9, 1937, in Vernon, AL to the late Willie Blanche and Morris Sizemore. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Butch Hodges, and her sister, Sarah Welch. JoAnn is survived by her husband of 68 years, Thomas (Toby) S. Hodges, Jr., in addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Diane Atwood (David) of Katy TX, sisters Sue Goodman (Billy) of Caledonia, MS, Linda White (Harvey) of Columbus, MS, and grandson Sean Hodges of Columbus MS. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Billy Welch, and her 3 great grandchildren, along with 3 nieces and 3 nephews.
JoAnn, affectionately known as ‘Tweety’, loved to arrange flowers at her business, Tweety Bird Florist. She loved to serve the Lord playing the piano, singing, working with the Kairos Prison Ministry, and cherished her time as a leader for Bible Study Fellowship. She served as the pianist at Woodland Baptist Church for 45 years and prior to that at Antioch Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be the deacons of Woodland Baptist Church. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Ladies Sunday School Class of Woodland Baptist Church.
