Joann Jones, 85, passed away unexpectedly on Friday November 14, 2025 while at Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. She was born on September 2, 1940 in Barberton, Ohio to the late Joseph & Johanna Gonsiewski Sefranko.

Joann was a hardworking woman with an eye for detail and a zest for life. She was a skilled X-Ray Technician and proudly worked for Akron General Hospital & Barberton Citizens Hospital- where she made life-long friends. Following her separation from the medical field, Joann went on to follow a passion of her and opened Country Woods Furniture Store. In her free time and following her and the family's relocation to Surfside Beach, South Carolina, Joann was able to enjoy the finer things in life. She could be found walking the beach, cooking bountiful family meals or simply dancing like no one was watching. Above all else, Joann loved her family with her whole heart. She will forever be remembered as an amazing, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend she truly was.

Left to cherish Joann's memory are her adoring husband of over 65 years, Mr. Leslie K. Jones of the home; their children- son, Michael Jones and his fiancé, Michele & daughter, Vickie Moore, all of Myrtle Beach; grandchildren, Taylor (Tyler) Shuler, Victoria Moore & Jake (Katie) Jones; great-grandson, Rome Lee Shuler; brother, Joe Gonsiewski and his wife, Marilyn of Barberton, Ohio; her beloved k9 companion, Ben; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins; a large, loving, extended family and many supportive friends and neighbors.

A Celebration of Joann's life will be held privately.

At the request of the family, please consider memorial contributions in lieu of flowers. Donations in Joann's name may be made to the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org
