Obituary published on Legacy.com by Beyers Funeral Home & Crematory - Umatilla on Nov. 27, 2025.
Joann Denise Latner, 69, of Altoona, Florida,

passed away peacefully on November 20, 2025, at

Waterman Hospital in Eustis, the town where she was

born. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and

friend, Joann's life was marked by kindness, service,

and unwavering love for her family and community.

Joann was married to the love of her life, Jerry

Latner, with whom she shared a lifetime of partnership

and dedication. She leaves behind her son, Ray Latner

and his wife Wendy, her daughter Laura Latner, and

her cherished grandchildren: Shelly Latner, Abbi

Latner, and Shawn Magee. She is also survived by her

nephews, Shane and Kenny Graham.

She was preceded in death by her parents,

Donald and Bonnie Graham, and her brother, Kenny

Graham.

Joann devoted many years to serving the

children of her community, working at Altoona,

Umatilla, and Spring Creek Elementary Schools, where

her warmth and steady presence touched countless

young lives. She also spent nearly 50 years working

alongside her family in the bee business, a cornerstone

of the Latner family's legacy.

A woman of faith, Joann was active in the

Umatilla Methodist Church, where she found fellowship,

purpose, and joy. She was also a dedicated supporter

of the local Parent and Teacher Organization, always

willing to help, encourage, and uplift those around her.

Joann will be remembered for her gentle spirit,

her quiet strength, and her deep love for her family.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Beyers Funeral Home assisted the family with

arrangements.
