Joann Matthews, 79, passed away peacefully in Glen Rose, Texas, on December 6, 2025. She was born on June 13, 1946, in Bennington, Oklahoma.
Joann lived a life grounded in love, faith, and devotion to her family. She cherished those closest to her and took great pride in being a mother, grandmother, and soon-to-be great-grandmother. She spent many years working in accounting for McKesson Drug Corporation, where her dedication and strong work ethic were deeply valued.
Joann married Donald Wayne Matthews, and together they raised three children. She was Baptist by faith and carried her beliefs with grace throughout her life.
She is survived by her son, Tim Matthews; daughters, Tammy Atkinson and husband, Andy, and Tina Davis; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild on the way.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Thelma Rushing; the father of her children, Donald Wayne Matthews; and her brother, Bill King.
Joann will be remembered for her warm heart, her unwavering love for her family, and the kindness she shared with all who knew her. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched.
