Joann M. McCormick, 82 of Brick, New Jersey, formerly of Eltingville and Midwood passed away surrounded by family on Saturday, April 8, 2023, at Jersey Shore Medical Center. She was born to Eileen and Timothy Moriarity on November 10, 1940 in Brooklyn, NY.
Joann is survived by her daughter JoAnn Duffy, her son Daniel McCormick (Donna) three grandchildren Tara(Chris), Johnny and Kevin, her three great grandchildren Christopher, Carter and Charlette Jo, her brother Timmy and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her son Kevin in 1994, sisters Erin and Eileen, son in law John Duffy, and daughter in law Valerie.
Joann graduated from Catherine Gibbs, she was the Executive Secretary for Paper Corporation of U.S. in Manhattan for many years before her retirement in 2006.
Joann was a devout Catholic who was very proud of her Irish heritage. Her pride and joy was her family who she loved being with. She also loved her puppies Ruby, Tessie and Molly.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 5:00 PM and 6:00 to 9:00 PM on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, New York.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday, April 13th, at 10:30am at St Rose of Lima Church, Brooklyn NY. Interment to follow in Moravian Cemetery, Staten Island, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Joann's memory may be made to the Wolf Parkinsons White Syndrome or The American Diabetes Association.
