JoAnn Johnson Morgan, 87, of Brainerd, MN died at home, peacefully in her sleep on May 28, 2024
JoAnn was born in Cloquet, MN on July 30, 1936 to John and Veronica (Brenny) Obeidzinski. She married Ralph Johnson, the love of her life in 1956, sadly, he passed at a young age in 1977. She was blessed with a second marriage to Jim Morgan in 1984. He passed away in 1996.
JoAnn was a homemaker until Ralph died, then she worked for many years as a Department Manager at Montgomery Wards where she created many close relationships. She was an adult lifelong member of St. Francis Church where she was involved in the Daughters of Isabelle and St. Helena guild group. While she liked quilting, reading, gardening, and playing cards, she enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her extensive family. She was deeply devoted and known for her numerous homemade gifts like quilts, wall hangings and pj pants for her large family.
She is survived by her children Bryan (Lorrie Bescheinen) Johnson of Plymouth, Bruce (Ellen Ripley) Johnson of Brainerd, Linda (Ken Litke) Johns of Ashby, Laura (Kenny) Larson of Chanhassen, Ramona (Tom) Watkins of Roseville and Roberta (Tom) Jay of Eden Prairie; 17 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren; two stepdaughters: Cheryl (Bob) Segebarth of Waterloo, IA and Marcie (Brad) Vickerman of Miltona; 10 step grandchildren and 18 step great grandchildren and 2 great, great step grandchildren.
She is also survived by her brothers: Tom (Raelene) Obedizinzki, Stephen (Judi) Obeidzinski; Michael (Kathy) Obedizinski, her sisters: Bonnie Anderson, Jane (Clyde) Sample, Barbara (Bob) Johnson and sister-in-law Janice Obeidzinski.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, brother Jack, sister MaryAnn and son-in-law John and stepdaughter, Micki.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Francis Catholic Church Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. on June 5, 2024, preceded by a visitation starting at 9:30. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Arrangements are entrusted to Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Baxter.
