JoAnn Nechodom Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by O'Connell Funeral Home - Little Chute on Feb. 9, 2025.
JoAnn Nechodom, age 68, passed away peacefully on February 7, 2025, after living a life that we should all aspire to. JoAnn was a person whose life was defined by love and selflessness. She had a remarkable ability to make those around her feel valued and cared for and showed genuine compassion that touched the lives of everyone. Her kindness knew no bounds, and her unwavering support made a lasting impact on family, friends, and even strangers. JoAnn's legacy of love will live on through her daughter, her family, and all those she made a connection with. We are all better for having the privilege of knowing JoAnn.
When asked about her proudest achievement, she would tell you, without hesitation, that it was her daughter, Whitney. JoAnn, along with her sister Deb, took absolute pleasure in raising Whitney and watching her become the woman she is today. The love they had for each other was, and still is, visible to all-built on Golden Girls reruns, enjoying the music of Reba McEntire, and dinner dates at the Kmart Café. When Whitney and Tony got married, he entered that tight circle. Tony became more than just Whitney's husband; he became a part of their family in the truest sense of the word.
JoAnn was born on September 21, 1956 to the late Robert and Lorraine (Vaubel) Nechodom. She grew up in Little Chute, spending the majority of her life there. JoAnn dedicated over 40 years to Kaukauna Cheese, now known as Bel Brands USA. Throughout those years, she cherished trips up north with family and friends, enjoyed clearing out the claw machines at family Christmas gatherings, and had a blast at Six Flags-though she preferred staying safely on the ground while others braved the roller coasters. After retirement, JoAnn enjoyed spending time with Deb and Carol, doing things she loved, such as playing cards, throwing dice, watching their favorite game shows, and babysitting her grandpuppies.
She spent her final months at Little Chute Health Services making new friends. She loved her time there enjoying ALL of the activities including singing karaoke, playing BINGO, and teasing Miranda with her witty humor. She often stayed up way too late making friendship bracelets to give to, well everyone!
JoAnn is survived by her daughter, Whitney, and her favorite son-in-law, Tony Bouchard of Kaukauna; her grandpuppy, Motlow; brothers, Michael (Pat), Robert, Bruce (Tanya), Jeffrey (Karen), and Duane (Connie) Nechodom; and sisters, Carol Kelly, Linda Meidam, Mary (Dave) Peterson, Debbie Nechodom, and Patty (Ron) Havel. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandpuppy, Jack; her brother, James Nechodom; brother-in-law, Michael Kelly; sister-in-law, Debbie Nechodom; and nieces and nephews: Melissa, Kevin, Stephenie, Brian, Chris, and Todd.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Little Chute Health Services and Moments Hospice for their loving care and support of one of the most cherished individuals in our lives.
