JoAnn M. (Collins) Paolino, 80, joined with her God on October 28, 2025. She was the daughter of Anna (Foster) and Joseph Collins. JoAnn was a life-long resident of Haverhill, MA.
Her formal elementary education began at Sacred Hearts School, Bradford in 1950. JoAnn graduated from St. James High in 1953. After graduation, she matriculated to Saint Elizabeth's School of Nursing in Boston.
After two years, JoAnn left St. E's and gained employment with AT&T. At this time, she accidentally reconnected with John A. Paolino, a close high school classmate, and they began to date. Two years later, they married in Sacred Hearts Church on June 10, 1967.
On August 1, 1968, their first child Robert J. was born. Then, their second, Daniel M. was born on March 7, 1970. Lastly, on August 25, 1971, Amy L. arrived. In 1972, the couple bought a house on Garrison Ave, where they still reside today.
JoAnn had been gifted with a "heavenly voice." She loved music. From her early years, everyone knew how already talented she was. She practiced her music every day with a fanaticism which would result in her reaching the pinnacle of her craft. During this musical era, JoAnn was not only a soloist but also a member of St. Augustine and St. James choirs, along with the St. James High Glee Club. She could have made the "Big Time" if she had chosen.
During the 80's, JoAnn waitressed at Capt'n Chris' Restaurant where she often was requested. Also at this time, JoAnn was raising her children and being a wonderful wife to John.
There were many other "hats" she wore from chaperoning field trips, school events, lunch mother to even leading a cub scout troop.
Finally in the 90's until retirement in 2007, JoAnn worked for the Pentucket Bank first as a teller, then a clerk, while being the "hostess of congeniality" for Pentucket's public events. She was loved by coworkers and patrons alike.
JoAnn leaves her husband, John, of 60 years, her children Robert, Daniel (significant other Christine), and Amy, along with grandchildren Miranda (significant other Angelo), Mikayla, Ava, Austin and Holly, plus two great grandchildren, Esme and Dalton, as well as her siblings Priscilla, Dennis J. and Mary E., a close cousin Carolyn Carella and several nieces and nephews.
She loved her family with the passion of a lioness, yet gentle and loyal to all.
JoAnn will be greatly missed. We were all so blessed to have had her in our lives.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her calling hours on Friday, November 7, from 4-7 PM in the H.L. Farmer & Sons Bradford Funeral Home, 210 South Main St., Bradford. Her Funeral Mass of Chrisitan Burial will be on Saturday, November 8, at 10 AM in Sacred Hearts Parish, 165 South Main St., Bradford. Interment will follow in the St. Patrick Cemetery, Haverhill.
