Joann Grace Samuelson, a radiant beacon of love, faith, and wisdom, was called home to glory on the 23rd of October, 2023. Born in the humble town of Burton, Michigan, on January 3rd, 1948, she lived a life that was a testament to the grace and mercy of our Lord.
Joann was a woman of great strength and resilience, a true servant of the people. She dedicated her professional life to the healing ministry, retiring in 2013 as a Registered Nurse from Genesys Hospital. Her caring nature extended beyond her work, touching the lives of all who were blessed to know her. Joann was also a devoted member of St. Timothy Church in Otisville, where she faithfully served her community and the Lord.
She was a woman who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Joann had a green thumb and found solace in the tranquility of her garden. She also had a spirit of adventure, often embarking on journeys to explore the beauty of God's creation. Her interests were as diverse as the flowers in her garden, each one a reflection of her vibrant spirit.
Joann was a beloved mother, sister, and friend. She leaves behind her children, Dennis (Jennifer) Samuelson and Jenny Samuelson, who will forever cherish her memory. Her siblings, Sharon Gifford, Bonnie Kime, Mary Wren, Laura DeMeyers, Gary DeMeyers, Barry DeMeyers, and Duane DeMeyers will remember her as a sister who was always there with a comforting word and a loving smile. Her granddaughter, Magen Stevens, will forever hold dear the wisdom imparted by her grandmother. Her close friend, Shiela Jackson, will miss the companionship of a friendship that stood the test of time. Joann is now reunited with her parents, Frank and Zelpha DeMeyers, and siblings, Jim DeMeyers, Bill DeMeyers, and Frances DeMeyers, who preceded her in death.
In the words of the good book, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant." Joann Grace Samuelson lived a life that was a testament to these words. She was a woman of faith, a woman of love, and a woman of wisdom. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she loved and those who loved her.
As we bid farewell to our beloved Joann, let us remember the joy she brought into our lives, the wisdom she shared, and the love she gave. Let us celebrate her life, knowing that she is now at peace in the arms of our Lord. Amen.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Joann's' Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Jansen Family Funeral Home - Columbiaville. Share memories, condolences, and pictures with the family at www.jansenfuneralhome.com.
