Mrs. JoAnn Smith Spivey, age 77, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 8, 2024 with her husband and daughter by her side. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 4:00 PM Friday, July 12, 2024 from the Chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home by Pastor Jeff Williams. The family will greet friends from 3:00 – 4:00 PM Friday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Spivey was born July 21, 1946 in Rockingham, NC a daughter of the late Joe Smith and Ruth Smith Williams. She was a retired receptionist with Aramark with over 20 years of service. JoAnn was a member of Patrick Baptist Church and enjoyed attending Cedar Creek Baptist Church. A lady who enjoyed taking care of her family and home, JoAnn could usually be found outdoors working in her flowers and yard.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Spivey was also preceded in death by her step-father, Bill Williams.
Those left to cherish her beautiful memory include her husband, Wayne Spivey of the home; daughter, Sheila Thomas (Sean Carroll) of Cheraw, SC; sisters, Jan (Steve) Thomas of Patrick, SC, Donna (Tim) Robertson of Hartsville, SC, Brenda (Greg) Boswell of Wadesboro, NC; brother, Dean (Jeanette) Williams of Hartsville, SC; godson, Zach Thomas of Mint Hill, NC; mother-in-law, Doris Spivey of Raleigh, NC, sister-in-law, Judy (Mike) Youngkin of Raleigh, NC; 4 nieces; 1 nephew; 5 great nieces; and 9 great nephews.
