Joann Dossey Stone, born September 10, 1942 unexpectedly went to be with the Lord on June 13, 2025 at her home in Charleston, South Carolina

Joann was one of a kind. She was funny and always made everyone laugh. She was never mad at anyone. She was a very special lady who gave her heart and time to anyone who needed her. She especially gave her heart to God. She would do anything for you. She was a caregiver, the best mama, grandma, sister, aunt, friend and an overall very kind soul. She was never alone, she took the Lord with her everywhere she went. She will be sorely missed and loved forever.

Leaving behind all the hearts she touched; her daughters, Faye Skipper (Skip) and Karen Helms; sisters, Carolyn Helmey (John), Wanda Carson, Janet Tuttle (David), and Nona Jenkins (George); brothers, Richard Dossey (Barbara), Raymond Dossey, and Robert Dossey; 5 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren. Preceding her in death are her mother and father, Elefair and Brooks Dossey; son, Wayne Creel; first husband, Cecil Creel; second husband, Bill Stone; and brothers, Tommy Dossey and Johnny Dossey.

The family will be receiving friends from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m., Saturday, August 23, 2025 at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hodgson Memorial Chapel, 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah, Georgia 31406.
