Obituary For JoAnn Williams Taylor
On behalf of the staff and management of Strong & Jones Funeral Home, we would like to extend our deepest sympathy to the family of Mrs. Jo Ann Williams Taylor.
Jo Ann Williams Taylor known affectionately as "Sister" by many earned her wings and took flight to be with her heavenly father on Sunday, December 31, 2023, from her residence. She received a first-class ticket; and a band of angels escorted her home.
Jo Ann was born into the union of the late Mary Elizabeth Callaway Williams and Wren Williams, Sr. on April7, 1927 in Miller County, Colquitt, GA. Jo Ann (Sister) relocated to Tallahassee with her family at an early age. She was married to Frank Taylor who preceded her in death.
She became a beautician's beautician. She thoroughly embraced the art and creative scope of cosmetology. She enjoyed helping others to look their best.
Her hobbies included residing, word puzzles, bingo and shopping! She was an authentic Fashionista! She loved the sports of baseball and football. She was a die-hard rattler football fan.
Jo Ann was the oldest member both in age and membership at her church, Jacob Chapel Baptist Church. She served faithfully until her health impacted her health. She served as a Sunday School teacher and as an usher. She used her gifts and talents to serve in the local communities, especially the Bond Community.
JoAnn's home-going celebration will be 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at Jacob Chapel Baptist Church located at 2333 Lake Bradford Road – Tallahassee, Florida 32310. Viewing will be from 1:00 pm until 6:00 p.m. on Monday, January 9th at Strong and Jones Funeral Home.
Our queen's precious memories and legacy will be cherished by daughters Arrhea S. Willliams of Tallahassee, FL and Kimberly C. Hobbs (Rev. Alvin) Atlanta, GA; Son, Megan M. Nelson, Tallahassee, FL. She also raised three special nephews as her sons with unconditional motherly love; Derrick S. Nelson, Tampa, FL, Roderick Nelson and Michael Nelson of Tallahassee, FL. Sister, Henriette W. Gardner (Dr. Omega S.), Brother, John Lewis Williams, Sarasota, FL. Sister-in law, Ana Lavern Williams. Send flowers to the service of JoAnn Williams Taylor

I remember when I mom, Ellen took LaDonna and myself to get our hair done on the bus. Every Saturday. She will truly be missed.

Grief can be so hard, but our special memories help us cope. Remembering you and your loved one today and always. "Sister" was a beautiful person, her smile, laugh and a real lady she had grace and was a very fashionable dresser, with pride, she would give you her last if needed, she always made me feel welcome in her home, Sister take your rest and you will be missed.

I remember her presence. Her smile, the way she dressed and her hair always in place spoke volumes to my heart and how a woman should carry herself. I was in middle school at that time, but still remember how her presence is stamped in my brain. Rest in peace, Mrs. JoAnn.

I will always remember her presence. The way she dressed, her smile and her hair always in place. I was a very young girl at that time and to this day, her presence spoke volumes to my heart and soul.
