Joanna (Marilyn) Muri, 81, of Bismarck, ND went to be with her Lord in heaven on March 16th, 2025.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 22nd, 2025, at Bismarck Baptist Church, 2211 Laforest Ave, Bismarck. Family will greet guests one hour prior. A service livestream will be available on the church's YouTube, listed here: Bismarck Baptist Church - YouTube.
A time of prayer and share will be held at 7:00 PM, Friday, March 21st, 2025, at Bismarck Baptist Church, 2211 Laforest Ave, Bismarck.
Joanna was born in Chile, South America on August 18th, 1943.
She graduated from the University of Mary and received a Bachelor of Science Degree.
Joanna was married to Garvin Muri for 60 years and they had 2 girls, Michelle and Jenelle.
She taught kindergarten, first privately and then publicly for 34 years.
Garvin and Joanna loved to travel. They have been to Hawaii, Alaska, various places within the U.S. and Canada, Ireland, Antarctica, the Arctic, South America, South Africa, Israel, Panama Canal, Mexico, and Europe to list a few. They loved to spend time with their family traveling, playing games, laughing, and eating.
Joanna is survived by her loving husband, Garvin; children, Michelle (Kurt) Diede, Jenelle (David) Wickstrom; grandsons, Justin (Natalie) Diede, Owen Diede; sister, Diana Strong; brother, Richard Wodehouse; brother-in-law, Bob (Patsy) Muri; sister-in-law, Karen Erickson; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by parents, Everard and Mary Wodehouse; in-laws, Olaf and Margaret Muri; brothers-in-law, Donald Strong, Charles Erickson.
Joanna's passion was to further the Gospel by donating to Gideons International so those in need could receive bibles. The family asks that memorials may be sent to Gideons International, so that others are still gifted with the word of the Lord.
