Joanne Buratti, 67, of Naples, Florida, passed away on December 11, 2012. Born on December 28, 1944 in Worcester, Massachusetts to the late John and Mary (Cairo) Palmieri, Joanne lived in Simsbury, Connecticut with her loving husband, Ken, prior to relocating to southwest Florida in 2002.
Joanne received her Associates Degree from Quinsigamond Community College in English and attended Clark University. While in Connecticut, she was very active with the Simsbury Theater Guild and as a volunteer with the High School English Department. As a Floridian, Joanne enjoyed golf, tennis, cooking and entertaining friends and family. She was involved in the Naples Lakes community where she made many friendships and great memories. Most of all, she loved spending time with her beloved husband, children and grandchildren.
Joanne is survived by her husband of 39 years, Ken; children, Jaime (Colby) Brannan and Amanda (Brian) Mallette; sisters, Esther Russo and Theresa (Nick) Capurso; brother, Sal (Mary Ellen) Palmieri; grandchildren, Grayson, Drew, Riley, Bryce and Casey; very special friends, Ron and Virginia Kowalczyk; and many other loving family and friends.
A Memorial Mass for Joanne will be held on Wednesday, December 19th at 11:30 AM, at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, 5130 Rattlesnake Hammock Road, Naples, 34112. Inurnment at St. Peters Columbarium will immediately follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joannes name to Avow Hospice, www.avowhospice.org.
