It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Joanne Claire Doxtater, who departed this life on September 15, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on October 17, 1942, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Kenneth and Janet Carroll.
Joanne enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, often spending time with family. Her fondness for spending time with her grandchildren was evident as they enjoyed movie outings, boat rides, and fishing on Okauchee Lake. Joanne also dedicated her time integrating herself into the community by being an active member of the Okauchee Lions Club.
Joanne is survived by her children; Judi (Doxtater) Winans, Jean (Doxtater) Sukkert, and James Doxtater. Grandkids; Cassie, Carly, Rachel, Bridgett, Sara, Richie, Kenny, Bobby, Cheyanne, Markie, Megan, Bryanna, Jazzlyn, Sophie, Tony, Ryan, and Gary. Joanne is further survived by her brother Leroy (Pat) Carroll, nieces; Cindy Rowe and Vericona Becker, nephews; Daniel Carroll and Ken Chandler; as well as 27 great grandchildren.
Joanne is preceded in death by her spouse James Doxtater, her son Jeff Doxtater, and her parents Kenneth and Janet Carroll.
A heartfelt thank you to Aurora Home Hospice and Dr. James Gatto for always taking such good care of Joanne.
A memorial service will be held at Okauchee Lions Park (N49W34400 E Wisconsin Ave) on Sunday, October 19, 2025, with a visitation from 1:00pm to 5:00pm, service at 3:00pm.
In Lieu of flowers, donations in support of Joanne's family are appreciated.
