Joanne Ellen Hemmerling

Joanne Ellen Hemmerling, 92, passed away on Friday, Dec. 22, 2023, in Libertyville. She was born Sept. 14, 1931, in Evanston, IL, one of a set of triplets, to the late John and Jean Morrissey. Joanne was a resident of Mundelein from 1955-2005 and has lived at Saddlebrook Farms in Grayslake the past 17 years. She was a member of St. Mary of Vernon Parish in Indian Creek and a retired employee of the Grainger Corporation. Joanne was an avid reader and loved to garden.
Surviving are 3 sons, David (Maureen) Hemmerling, Timothy (Patricia) Hemmerling and Jerome (Margaret) Hemmerling; 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of seventy years, David Hemmerling, by her brothers, Jack, Joseph and Jerome, and sister Jean Marie.
Visitation will be on Friday, January 12, 2024, from 9:30 a.m. until the funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary of Vernon Catholic Church, 236 W. Hwy 45, Indian Creek, IL 60061.
Interment will be in the spring at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines. Memorial contributions can be made to Misericordia (family #3325), 6300 N. Ridge Ave., Chicago, IL 60660 in her memory.
