JoAnne Carrie House

1931 - 2025

Wife, Mother, Sister, Grandmother, Aunt and friend to many, JoAnne Carrie House, age 94, of Forest Lake, MN died peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family on Sunday, November 23, 2025.

JoAnne grew up in Forest Lake, where she loved her days in and around water. After marrying William Paul House in February 1953, they moved to St. Paul where they had seven children, six sons and one daughter. In 1970, they moved back to Forest Lake where she lived the rest of her life.

JoAnne loved her children and her grandchildren, cooking, flowers, loading the fire, being by the lake/water, watching the deer on her property, her church family and her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She will be remembered for her attention to detail and superb cooking. She especially loved when everyone was together for the House family trips, picnics, and bonfires, which were full of laughter.

She is survived by her sons, Jeffrey (Jan) House, John (Barb) House, Daniel (Jenny) House, William (Lori) House, James (Tiffany) House, and Carrie (Bruce) Johnson; 17 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, William Paul House; her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Jeanie House; her parents, Charles and Ruth Rogers; her siblings, Charles and Henrietta; and her grandson, Joe House.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM, Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at River Valley Christian Church, 5900 Lake Elmo Ave N, Lake Elmo, MN. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial at Calvary Cemetery, Forest Lake.
