JoAnne Kay Huftalin peacefully passed into her heavenly home Sunday, Sept. 1, 2024 surrounded by her adoring family.
JoAnne was born June 12, 1933 to Henry and Dorothy Bell in Ohio, IL. She graduated from Rochelle Township High School where the love of her life, John, spotted that little dark haired, brown eyed beauty.
John George Huftalin and JoAnne Kay Bell immediately became each other's "one and only" for a 73 year long love story. They farmed side by side for 57 years. JoAnne was always willing to operate any piece of farm equipment at a moment's notice. They not only worked hard together, but stopped to play hard too. They traveled to 70 countries and adventured on 40 some cruises.
JoAnne consistently modeled before her family the example of the greatest love and devotion as a wife, mom, grandma and great grandma. She blessed every single person in her path with that bright and beautiful smile she was oh so known by. JoAnne brightened any room or gathering by just walking in, extending kindness and sunshine to anyone around her. She loved to dance, travel, send cards and letters and many other things as long as she was right beside her beloved John. She was a member of the Esmond United Methodist Church and served as secretary in United Methodist Women for many years.
JoAnne is survived and missed by her beloved husband, John of Winnebago; children, LuAnne (Steve) Munch of Winnebago, Bill (Vicky) Huftalin of Apache Junction, Arizona, Roger (Michelle) Huftalin of Rochelle, and Carl (Amy) Huftalin of Winnebago. She also adored 15 grandchildren; John Munch, Holly Nihill, Jill Hampton, Luke Munch, Caleb Huftalin, Twila McKinney, Tori Huftalin, Tessa Huftalin, Katelyn Huftalin, John Huftalin, Aaron Huftalin, Andy Huftalin, Nick Huftalin, Matt Huftalin, and Mitch Huftalin; and 27 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the United Methodist Church of Esmond.
Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am Friday, Sep 6, 2024, at Esmond United Methodist Church, 675 Main St, Esmond, IL 60129, with visitation from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Thursday, Sept. 5, 2024 at Olson's Quiram Sycamore Chapel, 1245 Somonauk St., Sycamore, IL 60178.
