Joanne Lucy Pantalone Ruhmel

Joanne Lucy Pantalone Ruhmel, 80, of Berwick, died Tuesday, November 11, 2025 at her home.
Born September 20, 1945 to the late Arther and Josephine (Spezialetti) Pantalone, she was a lifelong native to the Berwick Area.
After graduating from Berwick High School in 1963, she went on to work as a seamstress for Kaydette for 17 years until its closing. She then became a dietary technician for the Berwick Area Schools.
Mrs. Ruhmel enjoyed her weekly card games of Pinochle, playing Pokeno for pennies, watching Wheel of Fortune, watching the Steelers on TV, and listening to the Bulldog games on the radio. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepdaughter, Lori.
Joanne is survived by her husband of 38 years, Gary Lee Ruhmel; six children: Guy Franklin Slusser of Berwick, Stephanie Bender and her husband, Adam, of Phenix City, AL, April Docherty and her husband, Shawn, of Berwick, Scott Ruhmel and his wife, Dianne, of Berwick, Drew Ruhmel and his wife, Stephanie of Berwick, Diane Kishbaugh and her husband, Mike, of Berwick; 22 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Rosemarie Splain and her husband, Roger, of Leonardtown, MD, and Mary Yeager of Berwick; one brother, Franklin Pantalone of Berwick; and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held Monday, November 17, from 10:00 A.M. until the time of funeral services at 11:00 A.M. at the Mayo Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Chestnut Street, Berwick, with the Rev. Brad Iverson, retired pastor, officiating.
The family would like to extend special thanks to her loving caregiver, Saydie Rae Murray for her countless hours of dedication, commitment, and love that she has given. Saydie has gone above and beyond her daily duties to ensure that Joanne was well-loved and comfortable. In addition, the family is grateful to Commonwealth Hospice for ensuring that Joanne and the family were comfortable in every step of the journey.
