Joanne M. O'Melia

Pawtucket – Joanne M. (DeStefano) O'Melia, 85, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 29, 2022. She was the beloved wife of the late Patrick J. O'Melia. Born in Worcester, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late John and Clara (Caracciolo) DeStefano.
Joanne grew up in Worcester and relocated to Rhode Island after she got married. She worked as a bookkeeper for various retail companies throughout her career. Joanne and her late husband were parishioners of the former Church of St. Leo the Great, Pawtucket. She was an avid reader, a fabulous cook and enjoyed the beach. Joanne lived her life as a free spirit and enjoyed being spontaneous, soaking in all that life had to offer her.
She is survived by a son, Michael O'Melia and his wife, Elizabeth, of Attleboro; four grandchildren, Brendan, Christian, Casey and Keenan O'Melia; a great-granddaughter, Rowan; two sisters, Delores and Lucrecia and several nieces. She was the mother of the late Shawn P. O'Melia.
Services and interment with her late husband at Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, will be private. Visitation and floral tributes are respectfully omitted. Funeral arrangements are entrusted with WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, Pawtucket.
