Joanne Patricia Skinner

Joanne Patricia Skinner was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who passed away peacefully on April 14, 2025 at the age of 86 at her home in Powell Ohio. She was born in Oakland, California on May 31, 1938 to Jonathan and Bernice Calori. After she married, she lived in Memphis, Tennessee for nearly 50 years. In 2024 she lived with her daughter Joanie and son-in-law David in Powell Ohio.

Joanne was a stay-at-home mom who devoted herself to her three children. She was also very involved in her five grandsons and three great-grandchildren's lives. Joanne was a devoted Christian who loved serving the Lord. As a young mother, she often opened her home to the neighborhood children to help teach about Jesus. She was a member of the Laurel Canyon Church of Christ.

After Joanne raised her three children, she enjoyed working at Children's Palace toy store for several years and later worked at the Navy exchange as a cashier. She enjoyed reading her Bible, and clean mystery, Christian and Amish novels. Joanne also enjoyed watching professional and college football.

She leaves behind her daughter Joanie Pike, sons Darryl and Stephen Skinner, her five grandsons, and three great grandchildren.

Friends may call on Thursday, April 17th from 4:00 to 5:00 pm and may attend a memorial service at 5:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 10051 Brewster Lane, Powell, Ohio 43065.
