Joao Monteiro Obituary
Joao Pires Monteiro, age 83, of Bridgeport, the beloved husband of Carlota Rodrigues Monteiro, entered into eternal rest on Monday, October 17, 2022 in Maefair Healthcare, Trumbull. Born in Ardaos, Portugal on September 18, 1939, he was the son of the late Domingos and Lepondina Pires Monteiro. He was a retired employee of Acme United in Bridgeport.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include his daughter, Maria Sao Almeida and husband, Manny; his son, Domingos Monteiro and companion, Gina; four grandchildren, Ashley Branco and husband, Michael, Jessy Almeida, Nicholas and Alyssa Monteiro; one sister, Rosa Monteiro of France; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one brother, Maximino Monteiro; and one sister, Isabel Chaves.
Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Friday, October 21, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. Directly in Our Lady of Fatima Church, 429 Huntington Rd., Bridgeport, with a Mass of the Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Garden Mausoleum, Stratford. Friends may call on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Parente-Lauro Funeral Home, 559 Washington Ave., Bridgeport.
