Jody Lynn Kaplan

Jody Lynn Kaplan, of St. Paul, passed away after a 63-year-long fight against many of
life's sickest jokes. She leaves behind a carefully collected cohort of family and friends,
who became family too. By blood or by choice, she bestows the responsibility of
strength and snark in all situations to Nicole and Adam and Debe, Laura, Abbot and
Barbara, Lenny and Susan, Mike, Carole, Andy and Lauren, Danny, Caroline, Sue,
Theresa, Hal, everyone at the Archdiocese, and her wonderful neighbors. Beloved by
even the most ornery of cats, her most recent enchantress, Rina, will carry on in her
judgmental fashion at the home of her choosing, a true memorial to Jody. To the
caregivers: the staff of C5300 wing of Regions Hospital - it was an honor to experience
your compassion and professionalism. It will never be forgotten. To Dr. Randy Hurley,
when most words fail to express the depth of gratitude you deserve, and our enduring
admiration: You are a good egg. Newspapers don't print swear words, but those that
know and love her may raise a middle finger high in salute and shout to the sky
whichever epithet they most fondly remember Jody teaching them. There's probably a
billionaire on a vanity excursion up there who really deserves to hear it. Funeral service
