Jody Lee Mathis, 67, of Odessa, TX passed away on March 19, 2025, in Odessa, TX.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 27, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. at Martinez Funeral Home in the Outside Chapel.
Funeral services will take place on Friday, March 28, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Rose of Sharon Baptist Church with Rev. Windsor Archie officiating. Services are provided by Martinez Funeral Home and Crematory.
Jody Lee Mathis was born in Odessa, TX, to Sallie Mae Boyd on May 23, 1957. He graduated from Ector High School. He married Dorothy Jones on March 31, 1983, and to their union, three children were born. He worked for Ector County Independent School District for 19 years.
He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Orarenzia Mathis; grandfather, James Mathis; mother, Sallie Mae Boyd; brother, Curtis Mathis; and children, Marcus Edward Jones and Jocelyn Denise Robas.
Jody Lee Mathis is survived by his son Brandon Mathis (Coise); nephews and nieces, Bryant (BJ) Mathis (Chasity), Sarenda Godfrey (Corey), Cameisha Mathis, and Jermiah Mathis. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jalah Nealy, Jordyn Mathis, Jianna Mathis, and a host of other close relatives and friends near and dear to his heart.
