Jody Parvin Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lemons Funeral Home - Plainview on Jul. 30, 2025.
Jody Lynn Parvin was born on September 9, 1970, in Wurzburg, Germany. He lost his short battle with cancer on May 4, 2025, at the age of 54, and is now resting in the arms of Jesus. A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00pm, Thursday, May 8, 2025, at East Mound Cemetery in Matador, Texas. Services are under the care of Lemons Funeral Home in Plainview. Jody was a hard worker and extremely dedicated to whatever job he held. He proudly served our country in the United States Army and the National Guard. He did two tours in Iraq and was there at the taking down of Sadam Hussein. He was honorably discharged and the recipient of many medals and badges. He then returned to the job he had right out of high school, working in the Meat Department as a meat cutter at United Supermarket in Plainview. He was offered the Meat Market manager position at the United Supermarket Store in Amarillo, where he lived until recently. He was able to come back to Plainview when he was offered the position as Meat Market manager at the Plainview United Supermarket store, where he became suddenly ill. Jody loved to fish, he loved his family, and he loved his beloved cat, "Red Foot." Jody had a heart of gold and was always willing to lend a helping hand to his family when needed. He will be so missed. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Glen and Ruby Bailey; paternal grandparents, Ira Jack and Maude Parvin; stepfather, Stanley Dale LeFevre, stepsister, Deborah E. Bowens. Jody is survived by his mother, Shirley LeFevre of Plainview; his father, Lynn Parvin and stepmother, Sally Parvin of Lamesa; two sisters, Tracy Hawkins (Jay) of Amarillo, and Tammy Parvin of Lamesa; stepbrothers, Dwayne E. Mayton and wife Julie, Chris LeFevre and Greg LeFevre; stepsister, Lori Crupe; step grandmother, Thelma Seago, and other beloved family and friends.
