Joe Ann Stanley

Joe Ann Stanley (Erwin) was born in Bynum, Texas on May 2, 1944 and passed away in Joshua, Texas surrounded by her beloved family on July 25, 2025. She was a 1963 graduate of Kennedale High School. She married the love of her life Wilbur Leo Stanley on March 4, 1960.
Following their marriage they evangelized and served in their local church until their first Pastorate at First Assembly of God in Alvord, Texas, followed by First Assembly of God Churches in Glen Rose, Crowley, and Morton, Texas before founding First Assembly of God Church in Joshua, TX in 1974, where together, they pastored over 47 years along with their four children Jan, Joe David, Jill and Jeff while serving the church and their community.
She also served as the South Fort Worth Sectional Women's Director for the North Texas Assemblies of God District for many years. A devoted pastor's wife and woman of unwavering faith, Joe Ann's life was marked by her deep love for the Lord, her family, and countless missionaries stateside and around the world. One of her most treasured efforts was initiating the "Christmas for All" program in 1976 at Pleasant Hills Children's Home, ensuring that every child, worker, staff member there felt the love and joy of the season. Her commitment to the children and families of Pleasant Hills was a shining example of her generous and giving spirit. This tradition continues to this day and will for years to come.
It can be said that Joe Ann Stanley served faithfully alongside her husband in ministry, always with grace, compassion, and a heart for others.
Her legacy will continue through her daughter Jan Aderholt, son Joe David Stanley Sr, daughter Jill Lawrence (John) and son Jeff Stanley (Mindy). Her grandchildren, Tiffany McClain (Chip), Ardon McKinley III (Melissa), Jenna Anthony (Brent), JJ Lawrence (Amy), Jared Lawrence Sr (Christa), Alyssa Stanley, Joe David Stanley Jr, Addy Stanley. Her great grandchildren Charleston McClain; Jaiden, Adrianne, Paisley Jo, Ardon VI McKinley, Ellie, Everett, Bree & Gavin Anthony, Kinley, JT, Korah, Kane, Koda Lawrence, Jared Jr, Jace & Jenelle Lawrence. She is survived by her brothers Jack McNeil (Charlene), Henry Erwin (Debbie), Alvin Erwin (Connie), brother in law Bill Stanley (Kay) along with multiple nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Rev. Wilbur L. Stanley, father - E.O. (Bunk) Erwin, mother - Jewel Erwin, brothers - Tobe McNeil and James Leonard (JL) Erwin, nieces - Tessa Erwin and Debbie Erwin.
We will love and miss our precious Mother/Nana forever..... until we meet again.
