Joe Bertelli, 81, passed away November 27, 2024 at his residence in Lacey. He was surrounded by his loving wife, Danielle, and cared for by his generous healthcare team.
He was born June 13, 1943 to parents Louis and Louise (Franz) Bertelli in Auburn, WA.
Joe and Danielle were married over 60 years and moved to Lacey six years ago, formerly living in the Renton Highlands and Shadow Lake area, where they lived and worked for 30+ years. Growing up in Renton, Joe graduated from Renton High School in 1961 and soon after joined the United States Air Force. It was while he was serving he met and soon married Danielle in Carson City, Nevada in 1963.
Joe's personality and jovial nature welcomed many friends over his lifetime and lent to his success as a United States Postal postman, where he retired from after 32 years. Never meeting a stranger, Joe enriched the lives of others on a daily basis. Along with his wife, they made many cruises and trips across the world, rarely experiencing a dull moment together. He loved cars and visiting casinos. Joe was a dedicated employee in all of his jobs. His hard work ethic and dedication made him excel at being a postman and set a shining example for his children.
He is survived by his wife, Danielle Bertelli, sons Brian Bertelli (Kimmer), Dan Bertelli (Kathy), and grandsons Carson and Mason. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Cherie McDaniels. A light that will never truly be extinguished, Joe will forever be loved by all who knew him. To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of Joe, please visit our Tree Store.
